Invitation to the Night of Churches on the 2th of June 2023 and to the exhibition of paintings from the 2th to the 4th of June 2023

We cordially invite you to the event Night of Churches, which will take place on the 2th of June 2023 in the grounds of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. At the same time, you can see an exhibition of Norwegian art in the church, which will run until 4th of June 2023.
For the third time, the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Bučovice will be opened to the general public as part of the national event Night of Churches. Also this year, the programme includes an exhibition with an opening ceremony, with the participation of the Norwegian project partner URVAL OSLO ART.
The motto of this year's Night of Churches is "For after the light of day comes NIGHT, and no evil can overcome wisdom."
The programme will begin at 6 pm with a Holy Mass, followed by a concert by 4God. The church will resound with songs not only in our native language, but also in English, French, Spanish, Polish, Swahili and many others, performed by members of four schola groups from Milonice, Nemotice, Brankovice and Dobročkovice. From 7 p.m., the Carousel of Fairy Tales from the I am that I am theatre by Víti Marčík Jr. will begin to take place in front of the church. Outdoor theatre performances of two classic folk tales, Hansel and Gretel and The Big Beet and a third on request, The Cock and the Hen, will bring us into the world of puppets. At 8 pm, an opening of paintings by Norwegian artist Helena Urvalkova will take place in the church. The Norwegian artist, born in Frýdlant in Bohemia, has lived in Norway since she was 15 years old, where she also studied painting and art history at Kunstøyskolen in Oslo. Today, she draws inspiration from her memories of her childhood in her native country and from later trips to the Czech Republic in search of her Czech roots, as well as from the Nordic country that has become her new home. The end of the program will belong to dance art performed by Anežka Miškovská. The young dancer founded the dance group Filiae Regis, in which she tries to combine movement and prayer in liturgical dance. Afterwards, until 10 pm, there will be an opportunity for individual tours of the church.
The exhibition will be on view for two more days, on Saturday the 3th of June 2023, 10 am -5 pm and on Sunday the 4th of June 2023, 10:30 am-2 pm. The artist will be present at the exhibition every day in the first hour of visiting hours.
