The Night of Churches successfully held
04.06.2021
On the 28th of May, the nationwide event the Night of Churches took place in the Bučovice Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary for the first time.
The evening Mass was followed by an accompanying program with the opportunity to access the church choir with rare organ, which is undergoing extensive reconstruction.
Not only the youngest visitors enjoyed the entertaining and touching performance of The Little Prince from the I Am Vít Marčík Jr. Theater. For all lovers of history, an interesting guided tour of the church followed, with an explanation by Deputy Mayor Jan Růžička.
The evening finished with a concert, the participants could enjoy classical music for organ and voice by the Mrázek Sisters and a dance meditation performance by Anežka Miškovská.
The whole evening was open to the general public and was an opportunity for anyone to come and see the Bučovice church. Experience that the church is not an empty old building, but a lively meeting place where everyone is welcome. The local priest Fr. Tomáš Fránek hosted the event with a kind word and a smile.
It was a great pleasure to see so many enthusiastic visitors of all ages from near and far.
Many thanks to all the organizers, performers and helpers, as well as to all the people who came and fulfilled the purpose of this event.
In the Bučovice parish, this event is part of the project "Organ restoration and revitalization of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Bučovice" funded by the EEA Grants 2014-2021.
